Today is the beginning of my new adventure………..

Actually, that isn’t necessarily correct.  The adventure began exactly one week ago from today.  The story goes that I was at an auction with my husband to pick up some hay.  It’s about an hour and a half away from home and little did I know what was in store for us that day!  I’m 40-years-old and love horses and animals (see About Me).  I’ve been wanting a horse trailer for about 20 years and started pleasure riding when I was a young teen.  Matter of fact, when I bought my truck 4 years ago, I specifically had towing in mind for the make and model that I sought out and purchased the full tow package just for my soon-to-be horse trailer.  See, I was selling real estate and just knew that I was on the road to riches, so surely the horse trailer would soon follow.  Well, the real estate thing went south, which is for another blog.  Needless to say, I’m four years in the present with no horse trailer yet.  Back to last Saturday……..

When we pulled up to the auction, there were all kinds of trucks, hay trailers, lawn tractors and numerous other items for sale.  Squeezed in-between a dually and a massive tractor was a huge gooseneck.  It was a total rust bucket, but my eyes lit up anyway, as they do anytime I see ANY horse trailer ANYWHERE.  Other horse-trailer-owner wannabes would surely understand.  Well, just as quickly, I dismissed any thoughts because I knew how much money was NOT in my bank account and besides, it was looking pretty shabby.  Safety is my number one concern and based on outward appearances, I just assumed that it must be beat-up inside.  So we registered for the auction and started scanning the numerous items for sale.
